About me: - I'm obsessed with elephants. This was true before I went to Africa and will be true for the rest of my (hopefully cultured) life. - I'm really not terribly adventurous. I feel like anyone who writes about travel is usually super crazy and daredevilish, but that is just not me. We'll see how that works out. - That being said, I'm not afraid to try new things!

The story:
When I was 16 I went on a high school sponsored trip to China. Three years later I traveled to South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique with my family. And now (well, in a month) I'm departing on a solo trip to study abroad in Wellington, New Zealand. Needless to say, I've been bit by the travel bug and I have a serious desire to leave the U.S. and see what else the world has to offer me. This desire has grown from just simply wanting to check locations off my bucket list to an interest in the travel and tourism industry. With seven countries under my belt (I'm including Canada on this one) I know that I have a long way to go before I can consider myself a veteran world traveler. But hey, I have to start somewhere. My plan for this blog is to chronicle my travels (hopefully I have many, many more!), my thoughts and experiences as I begin to further explore the tourism industry, and general everyday experiences as I try to figure out what I want to do with my life. Plans never really seem to work out for me though, so bear with me.
